HAUTE HUNTER® Presents…Le Chic Urbain Fall 2022

Happy Fall from one HAUTE HUNTER®  to another!
Sending love, peace, and grace to all of my 'SweetHautes' out there- as the  world as we know it has changed so significantly.  this unprecedented amount of devastation, disease, death, discord, and disharmony we are experiencing  due to the global pandemic, worldwide economic downturns,  and a plethora of domestic & international civil unrest has not been 'a walk in the park'.   It has truly been a struggle for many of us to see ‘a light at the end of the tunnel’.   Nonetheless,  the beauty of humanity continues to shine through- regardless of our circumstances- and our creativity continues to flourish.  As such there has been a resurgence of interest in and commitment to art, fashion, and entertainment.

In looking at the fashion industry specifically, which experienced a 20 percent decline in 2019/2020, the  State of Fashion 2022 report  by McKinsey & Company indicated that “(a)after nearly two years of disruption, the global fashion industry is once again finding its feet. Companies are adapting to new consumer priorities, and  digital is providing a nexus for growth.”   Although demand is still an issue, the supply chain remains broken, profit margins are struggling, and brick and mortar stores continue to close each day (RIP Barney’s NY), the industry is on the rebound!

as they say “the proof is in the pudding” and by the looks of the 2022 fashion week season, HAUTE COUTURE IS BACK!  And my, my, my, Black Girl Magic was sprinkled all throughout!

Check out Janet, Doja, and Erykah holding court on the front row at the Thom Browne show in Paris:

With Lori Harvey rocking a FW22 look from Haitian designer Victor Glemaud at the BoF500 celebration the same week:

Speaking of the BoF500 (Business of Fashion’s celebration to honor the top 500 people currently shaping the fashion industry), one of this year’s recipients is Vogue’s Fashion Editor-At-Large Gabriella Karefa-Johnson.
Along with being one of the few Black women at the top of their game in the fashion industry,  Karefa-Johnson has been recently placed in the Black community’s “protect her at all costs” category due to bullying from Kanye West!
Unless you have been living under a rock, Kanye debuted his “white lives matter” t-shirt during this years Paris fashion week- which many people (including Karefa-Johnson) found highly objectionable, offensive, and plain-out ‘coonish’.  You can see Kanye here in the ‘design’ with another ‘unmentionable…Candace Owens) here..get a life dude:

Enough of Kanye…let’s get back to fashion….

As all of the Sweethautes know, I love me a good ole collaboration!  Target is at it again, after a very successful run with Christopher John Rodgers and on the heels of my Soror Kahlana Barfield Brown’s  capsule for the launch of their Future Collective,

Target also launched their collaboration with Sergio Hudson TODAY!!!!! Sergio, along with Kika Vargas and La Ligne, is a part of ‘Tar-Jay’s’ current Fall Designer Collection.  Pieces are moving FAST so I suggest you get moving! It’s the monochrome looks from Sergio shown below for me!

Well Sweethautes, it’s been nice re-connecting! I promise next time won’t be so long (hopefully there will be another cute collab for me to feature before the holidays). In the meantime, stay on the 'haute Hunt' and Keep shining!

Xoxo,

Your HAUTE HUNTER®
